MPCD33 Extended Numark's MP3 Product Support

January 16, 2003

Numark announces the MPCD33, a MP3 mixing solution for club and mobile applications. The MPCD33 is a dual transport CD player that plays MP3 files on CDR media, as well as standard audio CDs. The MPCD33 gives DJs the ability to manipulate and mix two MP3 files in real time, with up to +/-16% pitch adjustment and pro-grade features like AntiShock buffer memory, direct track access, relay, and fader start.

Numark CEO John E. "Jack" O'Donnell commented, "Numark believes that MP3s offer DJs great flexibility and convenience, and we also believe that DJs should never have to rely on sensitive computer equipment that might not stand up to the rigors of abuse found in club and mobile environments - particularly during a live performance. That's why we're offering DJs an MP3 solution that works with existing club, mobile, and studio equipment without the need for a PC. Simply burn MP3s to inexpensive CDR media and you're ready to go, using a proven, intuitive interface. While potentially saving thousands of dollars, we might add."

The MPCD33 features the same robust construction as Numark's line of dual transport CD players. The product also offers digital output to interface directly with digital gear in clubs, studios, or mobile kits. The MPCD33 has an estimated street price of $499.95.

The MPCD33 will be available at authorized Numark retailers worldwide in December.
