Peavey introduces its latest "extra, extra large" Peavey XXL Series guitar amplifiers. These new amps feature Peavey's exclusive TransTube technology, which emulates the sound of tube amplifiers without the hassle or cost of dealing with unpredictable tubes. New in this series are the XXL 212 combo and the matching, Blue Marvel-loaded 212 cabinet and 412 Slant and Straight cabinets. Designed for heavy metal, classic rock and alternative rock guitarists, Peavey XXL amps deliver the sound, high output, warmth and "push back" of a tube amplifier while utilizing solid-state construction. With a three-channel preamp feeding a 100 Watt output stage, the XXL 212 and matching loudspeaker cabinets provide the multiple personalities necessary for a versatile performance in today's rock music. To help tailor your tone to fit any style, the XXL 212 features bottom, body and edge active EQ on the Ultra channel, plus three-band passive EQ on both the Lead and Clean channels (all channels are fully independent). The XXL 212 also comes with a three-button footswitch, reverb and power level switch for 25, 50 or 100 Watts. A variable damping feature lets you duplicate the reactive relationship of various tube amp output stages and speaker enclosure designs. The XXL 212 and 412 cabinets feature Blue Marvel speakers, heavy duty casters, one-piece baffles and a closed-back design. The XXL 212 combo, XXL 212 cabinet and 412 cabinets will be available from Authorized Peavey Dealers in 2003. XXL 212 combo
