Behringer announced the TRUTH B2031A (USD 379.99 MSRP) at Winter NAMM, a high-resolution, active 2-way reference studio monitor. The TRUTH B2031A is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2004.
The TRUTH B2031A sports an ultra-linear frequency response from 50 Hz to 21 kHz with individual frequency diagrams, and an ultra high-resolution ferrofluid-cooled tweeter. Loads of power reserve stem from two separate, built-in 150- and 75-Watt power amplifiers for bass and high frequencies respectively. The monitor boasts a long-throw 8 3/4" woofer with special polypropylene diaphragm and a solid, deformation-resistant aluminum die-cast chassis. A special bass reflex system accurately renders the sound in the lower end of the frequency spectrum, according to Behringer. In the upper frequency range, a specially developed dome tweeter provides for subtle signal reproduction.
The TRUTH B2031A features an active crossover network with fourth-order LINKWITZ-RILEY filters can be adjusted to a wide range of acoustic conditions and subwoofer operation. There is also a separately controlled limiter for low and high frequency overload protection. Magnetic shielding allows placement near computer and video monitors, with low-vibration, environmentally-friendly E1 MDF cabinets.
All TRUTH B2031A are delivered as "matched pairs" with individual frequency diagrams. Servo-balanced 1/4" TRS and XLR connectors and an automatic standby mode round off the competent feature list. For more information, visit their web site at www.behringer.com. |
