Behringer launched a series of USB/MIDI controller desks at the Winter NAMM show: the B-CONTROL ROTARY BCR2000 (USD 189.99 MSRP), a total recall USB/MIDI controller desk with 32 illuminated rotary encoders and the B-CONTROL FADER BCF2000 (USD 249.99 MSRP), a total recall USB/MIDI controller desk with 8 motorized faders. Both are expected to ship in the second quarter of 2004.

The BCR2000 and BCF2000 are highly capable total recall cascadable desktop MIDI controllers with analog feel. The BCR2000 boasts 24 high-resolution encoders with LED rings for ultimate control over virtual mixers, synths, samplers and effects processors. The BCF2000 features 8 ultra-precise 100-mm motorized faders for control of virtual mixers, organ-drawbars (inverse mode) or virtual synths and samplers. Both B-controllers are equipped with 4 virtual groups with 8 dual-mode, high-resolution encoders that feature LED rings and an additional push function with illuminated buttons that are easily assignable to all types of MIDI functions, from note on/off, control change and program change to MMC and system exclusive data. An additional multi-function foot switch and foot controller connectors can be used to address all types of MIDI data, and configurable MIDI and USB modes allow for ultra-flexible system integration.

The BCR2000 and BCF2000 feature 32 user presets with four encoder groups, a multi-function 4-digit LED display with real-time parameter indication, and MIDI input with merge function for cascading several control units. The MIDI In/Out connectors allow easy connection to any computer/expander. Both B-CONTROLs are outfitted with 1 MIDI In plus 2 MIDI Outs and generic USB MIDI support with WINDOWS XP and MAC OS X. Additional drivers and an editor/librarian software will soon be available for free download online.
