January 20, 2004

Dynaudio Acoustics introduced AIR 25, the latest and largest member of the AIR Series reference monitors.

AIR 25 is a three-way active nearfield monitor with two 10" woofers, a 5.5" midrange and a 1.1" soft dome tweeter. With four massive built-in amps enabling more than 1200 watts of power, AIR 25 is designed for larger music studios, and mastering and post production facilities that require substantial power. At $7495 MSRP, AIR 25 will be available in March.

All monitors and subwoofers in the AIR Series, including the new AIR 25, are fully operational at a 192 kHz sample rate supported via Dual Wire. A 192 kHz digital output can be fed directly into the AIR monitors supporting 2.1, 5.1, 6.1 and 5.3 setups providing seamless integration with digital audio workstations.

To obtain a maximum dynamic range, AIRS 25's tweeter employs a 1.1" softdome with a 1.1" aluminum voice coil and an oversized neodymium magnet system. The midrange-driver is built around a one-piece molded polypropylene 5.5" cone. To reproduce the lowest frequencies, the AIR 25 features two 10" woofers utilizing a one-piece molded polypropylene cone and a 4" aluminum voice coil.

The AIR Series is an intelligent monitor system that provides options for addressing acoustical variances in different environments. While DSP filtering and PWM amplification add to the precision and dynamic capabilities of AIR monitors, it is the intelligent TC LINK network that enables full system integration. AIR's network capabilities allow for central remote control, preset storage and recall, extensive alignment flexibility, and ultimate precision. Internal precision EQs and delay lines (accessible from the dedicated Installers PC Package) not only improve sound quality, but offer more consistent speaker performance in different acoustical environments.
