Horizon Music Announces AVI-100 Audio/Video Interface at NAMM
January 23, 2004
Horizon Music introduced the new AVI-100 Audio-Video Interface at Winter NAMM 2004. The Horizon AVI-100 ensures getting the best sound possible from audio/video products designed for use in a wide-range of public venues from concert halls, assemblies or stadiums to the home studio or corporate event.
"The AVI-100 is a state-of-the-art audio/video interface," says James Watkins, product specialist engineer, Horizon Music Inc. "It is an impedance matching unit, which takes virtually any type of input and converts it to a balanced mic level output. This allows the user the ability to connect the signal to a professional mixing console. Further, it takes any high-impedance consumer-grade equipment, such as a camcorder audio out, electric guitar, keyboard, home audio hi-fi or even a 'boom-box', and converts it to a professionally balanced low-impedance signal or mic level."
For the musician, the AVI-100 is a versatile piece of equipment to own. "Musicians can use the AVI-100 for a home studio application where they eventually need to dump the music to tape or other types of recording devices. They can also use it on the road in a capacity similar to a direct box, which has the ability to accept 1/4", 3.5mm or RCA connector with a pad switch built into it," continues Watkins. "Because the AVI-100 has such a variety of inputs, it really allows the musician to have an unparalleled amount of options."
Key features of the AVI-100 Audio-Video Interface include:
- Use with audio or video recorders, classroom smart boards, projectors, portable public address systems, phonographs, tape players, CD players, etc.
- Rugged 18ga steel construction
- Recessed connectors for added durability
- 1/4", RCA and 3.5mm jack inputs
- Mic and line-level outputs (3-pin male XLR and _" jack)
- High/low pad (-20 to +4 dBv)
- Speaker/line attenuator
- Ground lift switch for noise reduction
- Impedance-matching transformer (6:1 ratio)
The AVI-100 Audio-Video Interface will be available at local music stores for a suggested retail price of $89.95.
