PRESS RELEASE

New Andy Timmons Signature Model from Ibanez

(Click for a close-up)
January 15, 2004

The 2004 NAMM Show sees the debut of the Ibanez Andy Timmons signature electric guitar. The new AT300 was designed to offer the kind of versatility needed by a player who plays gutbucket Texas blues one day and several commercial studio sessions the next.

For years Andy Timmons has been widely recognized as one of the most respected guitarists in contemporary music. Andy first entered the spotlight with his own Dallas based trio in 1988. Later he went on to become a member of the popular hard rock band, Danger Danger, where he received national acclaim for his extraordinary playing.

Unlike many MTV-exposed guitar slingers, Andy goes far beyond the realm of typical rock guitarists. He has studied both classical and jazz guitar extensively and is in constant demand nationwide for studio and clinic work. Andy recently released his 7th solo CD, "That Was Then, This Is Now," on Steve Vai's "Favored Nations" label.

The AT300 lists for $1799.99. It features an asymmetrically shaped (sometimes called "multi-radius") neck for comfortable playability. Pickups are by DiMarzio: two Cruiser DP186 single coil pickups in the neck and middle positions, with an AT1 humbucker made specifically for Andy Timmons (an Ibanez exclusive) in the bridge. The AT300 also features Sperzel locking tuners and a Wilkinson/Gotoh VSVG tremolo.
