It was 1987 when the introduction of the Steve Vai signature guitar spurred a radical turnaround in the then sagging fortunes of Ibanez. Since, there have been a number of new Vai signature guitar models at various NAMM show and so there will be at Winter 2004 NAMM. Except that this time it's an acoustic, not an electric.
"It's fitting that the our first signature acoustic guitar should be inspired by Steve Vai, who has done so much for the evolution not only of Ibanez guitars, but of the guitar itself," said Irene Schvartsman of Ibanez Acoustic Guitars. "Like his electric signature models, Steve's new Euphoria acoustic-electric has features found in no other guitar. The clear highs of the top, back and sides of quilted maple are perfectly balanced with the warmth of B-Band's UST pickup and A5 EQ and the result is a truly exceptional instrument. It's so good that Steve has already used the guitar to record direct-to-board."
The Steve Vai Signature Model, the EP7 Euphoria, lists for $1399.99. Each Euphoria EP7 is autographed on the guitar's soundhole label by Steve Vai.
