The 2004 NAMM Show in Anaheim sees the return of two very old favorites to the Ibanez effects line, the FL9 Flanger and the CS9 Stereo Chorus. "You'll still find these two effects from the early '80s in players effects rigs," John Lomas of Ibanez Electronics in Bensalem, PA. "The circuitry of the reissues is spot on with the originals; however, the consistency from pedal to pedal is superior to what we were able to do in the '80s, as the tolerances are much stricter."
The FL9 Flanger lists for $214.95. The CS9 Stereo Chorus lists for $199.95.
The FL9 Flanger and the CS9 Stereo Chorus reissue join the TS9 Tube Screamer solid-state overdrive, which was reissued in 1993 and is still one of Ibanez strongest selling pedals. (Trivia: The 1981 Nine-Series got its name from the fact that all the effects utilized nine-volt circuitry, the prior series having some effects, such as the FL301 Flanger, which featured 18-volt circuitry.)
