Good Charlotte Guitarist Benji Madden to Get OLP Signature Model
January 25, 2004
OLP, exclusive licensee of Music Man guitar designs, has teamed up with Benji Madden, guitarist for the multiple platinum-selling pop-punk group Good Charlotte, to produce a new OLP signature model guitar.
Benji plays Music Man guitars on tour and in the studio, notably the company's popular Silhouette Special model. The OLP version of his guitar will feature the distinctive, beveled, Silhouette Special-style body design with a special Metal Flake Green finish; a White Pearl pickguard; one bridge-position Humbucking pickup; a Maple neck and fingerboard with custom inlay; and the trademarked "4+2" Music Man headstock design.
The guitar will arrive at retail in a full-color Point-Of-Purchase box featuring a photo of Benji with his instrument on the front. In addition to the guitar, the pack will include an OLP gig bag, guitar strap, cable, picks and a collection of stickers that can be applied to the guitar for buyers who want to recreate the personalized look of Benji's own instruments.
Benji and Good Charlotte are known around the world for their recording "The Young & The Hopeless," which was released in 2002 on the Sony label. Before the holidays, Good Charlotte concluded a tour of the United Kingdom and Europe; they are now preparing to tour Japan in early 2004.
