PG Music Announces Andy LaVerne Artist Soloist Series for Band-in-a-Box January 21, 2004PG Music announced the Artist Soloist Series for
its Band-in-a-Box intelligent music accompaniment software. Included with this initial
release are two Soloist Sets created and defined by leading Jazz pianist, composer, and arranger
Andy LaVerne, The Andy LaVerne Mainstream Jazz Soloist and The Andy LaVerne Pentatonic
Jazz Soloist.
The Andy LaVerne Mainstream Jazz Soloist was designed by New York pianist Andy LaVerne in
the mainstream Jazz style. This set includes four Soloist databases: a medium Swing tempo
mainstream Jazz Soloist employing the full piano range; a fast up-tempo soloist using the higher
piano range; a mainstream Jazz piano soloist for medium slow swing; and a slow Ballad soloist
focusing on the higher range of the piano keyboard.
In The Andy LaVerne Pentatonics Jazz Soloist, Andy LaVerne performs in a contemporary Jazz
style that features the pentatonic approach to playing. The harmonic thinking and phrasing is
modern, in the style of McCoy, ChickC and JoeH. This Soloist Set includes four soloist
databases. All are performed on acoustic piano and will create solos on the full piano range. The
set features slow, medium and fast tempo modern Jazz Swing soloing each with 4ths and
pentatonics, plus pentatonic Ballad soloing for slow tempo Ballads.
The soloist databases in the Artist Soloist Series are created and designed by the performers
themselves. They work like any other Soloist Set for Band-in-a-Box. The solos can be looped,
slowed down, transposed, printed and saved. The user can harmonize any solo, choose the
soloing instrument and even choose a soloist mode with a trade fours option to perform "call and
response" exercises with a top studio musician.
Also available in the Artist Soloist Series are the Jeff Lorber Fusion Soloist and the Jeff Lorber
Screaming Rock Guitar/Synth Soloist. For only $29 per set, customers can download any of the
new sets in the Artist Soloist Series immediately from www.pgmusic.com or order via mail, phone,
fax or e-mail directly from PG Music Inc. For more information, visit their web site at www.pgmusic.com. |
