Big Brass Sound Comes to SRX-Compatible Synths
January 16, 2004
Roland has announced the SRX-10 "Big Brass Ensemble" Wave Expansion Board. Designed for use with "SRXpandable" Roland instruments--including the Fantom-Series, XV-Series, RD-700 and V-Combo--the SRX-10 "Big Brass Ensemble" offers a broad selection of brass sounds captured in world-class studios and mixed by renowned studio engineers like Dan Blessinger (Prince). SRX-10 captures the natural articulations and expressions of ensemble brass sounds, making it perfect for arranging pop, rock, classical or film scores.
Unlike CD-ROM collections, which require longer load times, Roland's SRX-10 gives players instant access to brass sounds. The onboard Patches include the natural articulations and nuances of real brass instruments--including realistic "falls"--that can be played with velocity switches and aftertouch. Everything from trumpets and trombones to French horns and tuba sounds can be played using the SRX-10, making it perfect for arranging many styles of music from pop and rock to classical and film scores.
When used with Roland's new Fantom-X Series, users can tap into the 128-note polyphony afforded by these powerful new instruments. And when combined with Roland's other expansions--like the SRX-04 "Symphonique Strings" and SRX-06 "Complete Orchestra"--the SRX-10 gives musicians a complete arsenal of professional orchestral sounds for arranging their music.
