Sony has expanded its popular line of Oxford plug-in software tools, which are now available in a TDM bundle for Pro Tools users as well as in LE and TC PowerCore versions.
Like its sister bundles, the new TDM package includes the Oxford EQ, Inflator and Dynamics plug-ins. All were developed to expand the range of sound processing options available to producers, engineers and artists. The new TDM Bundle (PTH-BUN1G2) has a suggested list price of $1,650.
Sony also introduced a Transient Modulator (TransMod) Plug-in, available in Pro Tools LE and TDM versions. Developed to radically modify the dynamic level of tracks and to revitalize recordings without compromising original artistic intent, the TransMod plug-in equips engineers with an essential new resource for refining sound quality.
The PTH-TMDG2 TransMod for Pro Tools TDM has a suggested list price of $450. Among the key TransMod plug-in benefits are that it:
- Radically changes the dynamics of instruments;
- Accentuates or flattens attacks and transients;
- Brings sounds forward or pushes them back;
- Increases or reduces ambient effects;
- Produces rounded and dynamic percussive effects; and
- Increases overall modulation potential by the reduction of very short peaks.

In addition to TransMod (PTL-TMDG2), Sony Oxford ProTools plug-ins for LE include:
EQ (PTL-REQG2): Five-band equalizer, with additional variable slope HP and LP filters. Provides control coefficients calculated on-the-fly, allowing quantization-free and noise-free operation. Emulates the sound and operation of an analog EQ, while providing the greater accuracy of digital technology.
Dynamics (PTL-DYNG2): Features channel dynamics with separately controlled sections for compressor, limiter, expander and gate. Variable harmonic enhancement provides extra loudness, presence and punch.
Inflator (PTL-INFLG2): Increases level regardless of prior compression without obvious loss in quality or audible reduction in dynamic range. Brings warmth and presence to program material.
LE Bundle (PTL-BUN1G2): Includes the LE EQ, Dynamics and Inflator.
