Classic Guitar Sound Comes to PowerCore with TC Thirty

(Click for a close-up)
January 20, 2004

TC Electronic introduced TC Thirty at NAMM, a virtual model of a classic 1961 British Vox amplifier, as its latest optional plug-in for PowerCore. Four different drive models and a variety of other easily configured features can be used to expand the sound and create different tones. TC Thirty is expected to ship in February at $249 MSRP and is exclusively available for PowerCore.

Just like the familiar AC30 overdrive modification, TC Thirty has a treble booster option that emulates the singing, crunchy sound of Queen's Brian May. Running completely on PowerCore, TC Thirty provides the sound and behavior of the normal channel found on that amp. The resonance can be switched to different frequencies so that a wide range of guitars can still get close to that classic tone - and can create their own unique sound as well.

Guitarists will appreciate PowerCore's "No Latency" mode, which enables TC Thirty to be played in a live recording or performance situation. TC Thirty also offers an oversampling option for even higher processing quality than in standard mode. Up to four standard mode instances of TC Thirty can be run on one Powercore Firewire DSP.
