Tama unveiled another limited edition Starclassic Exotix 7pc kit at the 2004 Winter NAMM Show. "Our 2004 Quilted Bubinga Burst set maybe the best looking version yet," said Ace Okamoto of Hoshino's Tama Drum Division. "It's our second version featuring bubinga shells, something that no other major manufacturer has done before. The 2004 Exotix drums are for discriminating drummers who are looking for a prestige kit or snare that doesn't sound or look like anything else, no matter what the price."
Starclassic Exotix 2004 Quilted Bubinga Burst drums will be available as 7pc kits or as individual snares only. There will be only 150 Starclassic Exotix 7pc kits and 300 Starclassic Exotix individual snare drums available worldwide.

- Shell Materials: Quilted Bubinga (1 ply) and Bubinga (8 plies)

- All toms feature Tama's Star-Cast free-suspension mounting system. Toms and snares are equipped with die-cast hoops.
The beauty of the Quilted Bubinga outer-ply is enhanced by Tama's Super High Gloss "Quilted Bubinga Burst" (QBB) finish. The darker portion of the burst harmonizes the grain of the Quilted Bubinga with the Brushed Black Nickel shell hardware. For the crowning visual touch, hand-laid genuine abalone highlights the imprinted Exotix emblem.
