Ultimate Sound Bank Debuts X-Treme FX at Winter NAMMFast, Flexible Tool Effortlessly Builds and Triggers Complex Sound Effects, Foleys and Atmospheric Sounds

Ultimate Sound Bank announced that "X-Treme FX," a flexible and totally new sound-design tool, which will be shipping in February of 2004.
A virtual instrument that allows users to easily create and trigger complex sound effects, Foleys and atmospheric sounds, X-Treme FX was engineered from the ground up as a tool to create effects for video, CD-ROM, games, music and broadcast programs. X-Treme FX will be distributed in North America by ILIO Entertainments.
With a 3-Gigabyte library delivering thousands of readily-accessible sound effects, X-Treme FX is faster and more affordable than traditional, CD-based soundbanks. Each sound file contained within the collection is divided into a category, such as Science Fiction, Drones & Sub, Natural Sounds, Urban Sounds, Foleys and Musical Effects. In addition, X-Treme FX includes a number of preset sound "scenes" which automatically load up an ensemble of related sounds, to use for live mixing or creating a virtual soundscape.
X-Treme FX will be available for VST, RTAS, AudioUnits, MAS, Dxi and MachFive, and is compatible with PC, Mac OSX & OS9. The product will ship in February of 2004 and carry an MSRP of $299.
