Avalon Guitars unveiled their Legacy Series of handmade acoustic guitars to North American markets. The launch took place at an event and concert hosted by Avalon Guitars at the NAMM 2004 Winter convention in Anaheim, CA. The event, which was co-sponsored by Fishman and J. D'Addario & Company, featured performances by Jacques Stotzem and Eric Roche. Avalon Managing Director Steve McIlwrath unveiled their new premier line of acoustic guitars, the Legacy Series, and was followed by a performance from Avalon endorsee Jacques Stotzem, who plays his signature Avalon guitar exclusively and dynamic young fingerstyle artist Eric Roche. With over a century of guitar building experience between them, Avalon's luthiers share a passion for the acoustic guitar. Avalon's Legacy Series guitars are each handmade by these luthiers in Avalon s modest Newtownards facility in Northern Ireland. Since each guitar is handcrafted to order, the Avalon Legacy Series is available with several wood and body type options. Initially launched by the Lowden Guitar Company (UK), Avalon has quickly established its own identity worldwide. Avalon's Gold Series was introduced in January 2002, a remarkably high-quality acoustic guitar at a reasonable price, and received critical acclaim. The line continues to grow with the January 2004 launch of the Silver Series, an Avalon quality guitar at a mid-level price, and the Legacy Series, Avalon's foremost line of premium acoustic guitars.
