Avalon Guitars introduced their Silver Series to North American markets at the 2004 NAMM Winter Convention in Anaheim, CA. Launched in March 2003 in European Markets, Avalon's Silver Series of guitars is offered in a variety of tone woods and body shapes and carries a U.S. retail price ranging from $799.00 - $975.00. All Avalon Guitars are crafted with Avalon's unique bracing pattern, which is voiced to produce rich, resonant and powerful tones, making them popular with both flat-picking and finger-picking players. Launched by the Lowden Guitar Co., Ltd. in 2002, Avalon Guitars craftsmen have been respected for their guitar building knowledge and experience. The new Silver Series has been designed and supervised by the same highly skilled team of luthiers and is the culmination of over 100 years of accumulated guitar-building expertise. The prototype for the first Silver Series was created in September 2002, born from the wide appeal for the look and tone of Avalon Guitars at an affordable price. The Silver Series joins Avalon's S Gold Series and the company s newly unveiled hand-made Legacy Series of premium guitars. Avalon Silver series guitars are anticipated to further expand Avalon s reputation for building the highest quality acoustic guitars, and make Avalon Guitars available to the pubic on a larger scale. The Silver Series includes 12 models, offering Avalon s signature Auditorium or Dreadnought body shapes. A variety of woods are available including solid sitka or cedar tops and laminated mahogany or rosewood back and sides. Silver Series Guitars feature natural wood bindings, a rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl inlay, a dovetail mahogany neck and a gloss finish. Cutaway models come equipped with the Fishman Acoustic Matrix pickup, the Fishman Prefix Plus Preamp and all models are strung with D Addario EXP Acoustic Guitar strings.
