Celemony Software is showing Version 2.5 of Melodyne at the NAMM show. With this update, Melodyne now also supports the Digidesign RTAS PlugIn interface and can therefore operate within the Pro Tools production environment.

This means that every Pro Tools user is now able to edit and modify audio data as effortlessly as if it were MIDI, undertake subtle corrections of pitch, create high quality harmonies, modify entire phrases and reshape audio files.

File handling is also considerably simpler in Version 2.5, thanks to the comprehensive and intuitive functionality of the new Sound File Browser. In addition, the internal MIDI output can now be sent directly to VST instruments hosted by Melodyne.

The update to Version 2.5 (RTAS support only in the studio edition) for Windows and Mac is free for registered users of Version 2.0 upwards and is scheduled for download at the beginning of February 2004.
