ESP Unleashes New 400 Level Guitars and Basses

February 01, 2004

2004 is off with a bang as ESP introduces a slew of 400-level guitars and basses to its lineup.

Across the LTD guitar line, all new 400 models will have premium pickups, the Earvana compensated nut, and Grover tuners. To wit: the Viper-400 comes with EMG-81 active pickups, as do the EC-400, the F-400FM, the EX-400 and EX-400BD, and the MH-400 and MH-400NT. A number of 400s have Seymour Duncan JB & '59 pickups: EC-400AT, Hybrid-400 (JB only, with a Duncan Designed TE-101R), and the H-400.

Bass-wise, upgrades go like this: the EC-404 and Viper-404 feature EMG 35-DC and 35-CS active pickups, and the B-404 & B-405 come with EMG 35 or 40-DC and P4/P5 pickups.
