Schecter Adds California Custom to Electric Bass Lineup

Schecter unveiled their new California Custom 4 and 5 String Basses at NAMM. These basses will feature Schecter's traditional CET body, constructed from alder with a highly figured Maple top. Both 4 and 5 string versions will feature an bolt-on 35" scale rock maple neck for added low-end clarity. The gloss-finished neck has a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard inlaid with Black Pearl dots. Previously only available from the Schecter Custom Shop, the new Diamond Series California Custom Basses offer many features from its hand-built counterpart. A massive chrome plated Hipshot 'A' style bridge adds sonic sustain, low-end clarity and gives the player the option of 'thru-body' or traditional top-load stringing, or a combination of both to completely tailor the playing 'feel' to the individuals personal taste. The CA. Custom-4 will be outfitted with EMG P/J active pickups and the 5-string will be armed an EMG 40P5 and 40J combination. The tonal range of both basses can be further extended by the on-board EMG Active BTS system. Available now at Schecter dealers worldwide in Black Cherry and Dark Vintage Sunburst.
