Alvarez Yairi Guitars unveiled several new Yairi Masterworks all-solid guitars for this January's Winter NAMM Show. Models vary from a new DYM95 in sunburst to a FYM95C vintage folk model:
The DYM95SB in sunburst finish features a solid spruce top, scallop bracing, Indian rosewood sides and back, ebony fingerboard and Yairi exclusive ebony direct couple bridge. List price is $2399. The DYM9512 is a twelve-string guitar in natural finish featuring a solid spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and Yairi exclusive ebony direct couple bridge. The DYM9512 lists for $2699.
This year Alvarez Yairi is also introducing the DYM95C acoustic electric cutaway with a solid spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and Yairi exclusive ebony direct couple bridge, and Alvarez System 600T MkII electronics. The DYM95C lists for $2,999. The FYM95V vintage folk model features a solid spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and Yairi exclusive ebony direct couple bridge, and Alvarez System 600T MkII electronics along with a 12-fret/blotted headstock. It lists for $3099.
Finally, Alvarez introduced the DYM85 Alvarez Yairi Masterworks all-solid dreadnought guitar. The DYM85 features a back and sides made from Japanese Kihada, an open-pored wood that lends the instrument a warm, articulate tone. Yairi purchased the special wood more than 30 years ago and has been naturally seasoning it in an open air shelter in Gifu for just the right moment. The guitar's other features include a solid western cedar top with hand-scalloped bracing, ebony fingerboard and direct coupled bridge, rosewood pick guard, and tortoise binding. The DYM85 lists for $1999.
All above models are scheduled for shipment in February. For more information, visit their web site at www.alvarezgtr.com. |
