Two New Titles from Discrete Drums January 14, 2005Discrete Drum will be previewing two new libraries for the 2005 Winter NAMM show: Heavy Mental Drums and Ruff Drumz Bitch!
Heavy Mental Drums is a collection of hard rock and heavy metal drum
performances, recorded at the legendary "Big Boy" room at the Sound Kitchen
in Nashville. Delivered on 13 tracks (kick, snare, hat, stereo toms, stereo
overheads, stereo room, stereo BIG room and stereo "GAK" track), this
collection consists of over 4 gigabytes of drum performances ranging from
simple straight ahead rock and roll, to flailing over the top metal
double-kick mayhem. The "Gak" track was recorded with one of the worst
microphones in history, filtered and compressed till it is among the ugliest
sounding train wrecks of a sound that you have ever heard.
Priced at $229, this 24-bit multitrack collection will be
shipping in early February. Heavy Mental Dtums can be pre-ordered at the NAMM
special price of $199 -- allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.
Ruff Drumz Bitch! is a collection of hip hop grooves recorded
at Studio Four, home to countless hip hop artists over the last decade.
These drums were played to a machine loop (instead of a click) for a unique
blend of mechanical and smooth human grooves. Tracks consist of kick,
snare, hat, crushed room, and super crushed room.
At 4 gigabytes on DVD or
CD-ROM, this collection will retail for $229, but can be pre-ordered on the
Discrete Drums site for $199 (allow 4-6 weeks for delivery).
Audio demos will soon
be posted on the company's web site.
