January 20, 2005

This winter, Fender Bass Amplification is introducing four all new Bassman combo amplifiers. Designed for contemporary bass players, this new line of Bassman amplifiers combine the signature Fender vibe with more power and more modern features than ever before.

Each of the four new Bassman combo amplifiers have been designed by Fender's team of bass amplification engineers, who have worked closely with both professional players and enthusiasts alike, to find out exactly what today's musician expects from a Fender Bass Amplification product in a combo format.

The overwhelming response was that players wanted enough power to handle their "around town" gigs, in a package that is portable. Also, having a full set of usable features like semi-parametric mid-range controls and a variable contour allow an amazing amount of control without being confusing to operate. It also had to reliable, portable, and versatile enough to meet the needs of any performance, rehearsal or recording situation.

The front panel on all four of the new Fender Bassman amps features a -6 dB input pad for high output basses, Mute switch with LED to indicate Mute ON, Volume control with CLIP light indicating clipping in either PRE or POWER sections, a Contour control with a variable scoop applied to the MID section for slap style playing, Bass and Treble control, and a Semi-Parametric Mid control with Frequency and Level. They also feature an XLR output with Level control, PRE/POST switch and a Ground Lift switch for live performances and studio recording.

The rear panels feature a removable internal speaker jack, which allows for full power to be delivered internally. They also have a headphone input for silent practice, an RCS style inputs for use with CD or MP3 player, an Effects Loop, and a Tuner Out that functions even when the amplifier is muted.

US MSRP begins at under $500.00.
