New PLL Series Wireless Mics from Gem SoundPLL-128 and PLL-248 build on technology of PLL-32 with more channels January 27, 2005
Gem Sound has announced two new additions to its PLL line, the PLL-128 and PLL-248. Like the recently released PLL-32, these new models offer a phase-locked loop design, but with the addition of more channels of operation.
All PLL systems ship with a choice of a hand held microphone transmitter or a body pack transmitter with a lavaliere microphone. All PLL models feature a built-in LCD and controls on the microphone or body pack transmitter. Frequencies can therefore be selected from the transmitter as well as the receiver. The PLL-32 provides extremely high quality of signal clarity due to its phase-locked loop (PLL) technology with diversity, superior UHF band operation, and built-in Noise Squelch circuitry. The PLL-248 additionally incorporates true diversity and auto scan for automatically finding an optimal transmission frequency.
The blue backlit LCD on each PLL microphone transmitter displays channel, group, mute, and battery status. Built-in controls include up, down, set, and on/off. The microphone cartridge provides a frequency response optimized for vocals, and the solid microphone body minimizes handling noise. The microphone transmitter is powered by a 9V battery.
Each PLL receiver unit is housed in a half-rack aluminum chassis and features a large LCD display that indicates channel, group, audio level, RF level, diversity A/B antenna, and mute. Rear panel outputs include balanced XLR and 1/4". Rack-mount adapters are available for mounting the receiver in a professional 19" rack.
The Gem Sound PLL-32 is now shipping with an MSRP of $199.95. The PLL-128 and PLL-248 are scheduled to ship in April with MSRPs of $369.95 and $499.95 respectively.
