In response to increase demand by hard rock and metal players for Ibanez RG model guitars with fixed bridges instead of locking tremolos, Ibanez introduced a new series named RGA Prestige at the Winter NAMM Show. The new RGA Prestige models feature an all-new massive metal "Gibraltar Plus" fixed bridge as well as an arched top, a first in the RG line (hence the "A" in RGA).

Three models are available including the RGA321FSPB which features a mahogany body with a AAA flamed maple top. The RGA321FSPB lists for $1929.99. A deluxe hardshell case is included.

RG guitars were first introduced at the Chicago NAMM show in 1987. Traditionally equipped with double-locking tremolos to handle metal music techniques such as "dive bombing," RG guitars have come to feature an increasing number of fixed bridge models in response to changing trends in player techniques.
