January 20, 2005

Phonic unveiled the first wireless active PA speaker specifically for use in live sound applications such as clubs, auditoriums, conference rooms and houses of worship. Performer Series active speakers utilize the 2.4 GHz spectrum to communicate wirelessly with mixers and other Performer speakers. They can also be used in conjunction with Phonic wireless microphones for a completely wireless PA solution.

Performer Series speakers have a built-in Linkwitz-Riley electronic crossover and two custom tailored power amplifiers - one each for high- and low-frequency transducers.

Performer active speakers have the option of wired of wireless operation. This gives incredible flexibility when hooking them up to the PA system. They can be used with a wireless microphone with very little setup and no audio cables required. Or, a wireless mixer module can be used to wirelessly transmit the signal from the mixer to the Performer active speakers in mono or stereo image, making this truly the world's first wireless PA speaker.
