Rapco International, of the VTG Holdings corporate family of companies and a manufacturer of audio and video interfacing and cable equipment, is featuring the Blox Series audio connection and testing boxes at the Winter NAMM 2005 show. The series includes 12 different audio tools that offer solutions for a multitude of audio problems and needs.
The 12 different boxes in the Blox Series are as follows:
BCTBLOX -- Continuity Tester. This unit is a self-contained continuity tester with circuit information carried via LED on the front of the unit. Testing probes are included.
KDBLOX -- Unbalanced Cable Tester. This unit is used to test unbalanced 1/4-inch cables offering LED indicators and 1/4-inch unbalanced female connectors.
CDBLOX -- Balanced Cable Tester. The CDBLOX is used to test XLR cables offering LED indicators and XLR male and female connectors.
CVPBLOX -- Variable Pad with Mute. This unit offers a continuously variable pad through a top mounted potentiometer that also pulls out to shut off the signal, "pop" free. Signal is routed through a female XLR input to a male XLR output.
PADBLOX -- Inline Pad. The PADBLOX attenuates incoming signals in -10db, -20db and -30db versions while maintaining correct impedance. Access is through an XLR female input and XLR male output.
ISOBLOX -- Inline Isolation Transformer. This unit is a one to one ratio isolation 600 ohm transformer used for signal and ground isolation while maintaining 600 ohm load and source impedance. Access is through an XLR female input and XLR male output.
STBLOX -- Neutrik Speakon Cable Tester. The STBLOX tests 4-pole Neutrik Speakon cables for shorts or open circuits.
PPSBLOX -- 12 Volt Phantom Power Supply. This unit is conceived as a single in-line phantom power supply providing up to 13.5 vdc at either end of the case with up to 100 milliamps of current. Access is through an XLR female input and XLR male output. Power supply is included.
PFLBLOX -- Phantom Powered Flashlight. The PFLBLOX is a unique portable light source that uses a red focusing beam for viewing in dim to dark areas. The red beam reduces disturbance while providing adequate light powered from an internal battery or by the phantom power from a console via a male XLR input.
DBBLOX -- Direct Injection. This unit converts high impedance source to low impedance load via an unbalanced 1/4-inch input and XLR male output.
DBBLOXF -- Lo to Hi-Z Transformer. This unit converts low impedance source to high impedance load through a balanced XLR female input and 1/4-inch output.
TDIBLOX -- Consumer to Pro Interface. This BLOX converts the line level input from consumer grade equipment (i.e. tape decks, CD players, etc.) into a mic level balanced output via two integrated RCA male connectors to an XLR male output. An included level control gives the operator volume control of the outgoing signal.
