New CS Series Microphones from Studio Projects January 27, 2005
At Winter NAMM 2005, Studio Projects
announced the launch of the CS Series of high
quality condenser microphones.
Sporting an entirely new look, with "lollypop" style
capsules, the CS series picks up where their
C Series left off. "As a
microphone company, Studio Projects is known for
delivering a great sounding product at a very low
price." Said Alan Hyatt, CEO of PMI Audio
Group, "The CS Series continues that tradition, but is
designed for the more demanding user, those with a
more sophisticated ear who are willing to invest more
money into a microphone."
The first microphone in the series is the CS1, a single
pattern (cardioid) large diaphragm condenser. Three
thumb-wheels are positioned just under the
windscreen, rotating perpendicular to the axis of the
body, controlling High Pass Filters (50hz, 75hz,
150hz, 300hz), Low Pass Filters (3Khz, 5Khz, 7Khz,
15Khz) and Pad (-5dB, -10dB, -15dB, -20dB). A small
window adjacent to each thumbwheel indicates the
state of adjustment.
The CS3 is a dual diaphragm multi-pattern large
diaphragm condenser. Combined with all the features
of the CS1, a fourth thumb-wheel has been added to
allow users to adjust Pattern (cardioid, wide cardioid,
hyper-cardioid, omni, figure-of-eight).
Additional models will be announced at a later date.
