Studio Projects showed their new
SP-828, 8 channel Mic Preamplifier. With a built-in 2
bus mixer, up to four SP828's can be cascaded
together using the Expansion Port, for 32 Channels of
operation in just 4 rack spaces.
Housed in a single rack space chassis, the SP-828
features 8 Mic Inputs, using the latest
Burr/ Brown IC's, with individual balanced outputs for
each channel for interfacing with recorders. All inputs
are also routed to a 2 bus and headphone outputs
for monitoring during the recording process or for live
sound applications. Front Panel controls for each
channel are Phantom Power, Phase Reverse, Mic/
Line Switch, Input Gain, Level, Pan and Solo, with
LED's for instant visual monitoring of selections.
Specs include 20Hz - 20kHz +0/-0.5dB
(Ref 1kHz) frequency response, and .002% THD 20Hz
to 20kHz at -20dBu In, +15dBu out (35dB gain)
The SP-828 is slated to ship 2nd quarter, 2005.
