For the price of a few small stomp boxes, Yamaha's Magicstomp pedals are loaded with tons of sounds from the classic DG, AG and UD Stomp, plus 24-bit digital effects from the famous SPX processor family and a ton of brand new effects. The new Magicstomp II (MSRP $299.99) packs 198 sound programs, an integrated chromatic tuner, mic/amp/speaker simulations, interactive software editing and full programmability into a convenient stomp box format. The Magicstomp series also includes the Magicstomp AG (acoustic) and the new Magicstomp EB (bass), making its debut at Winter NAMM 2005 with Spring 2005 availability.

Editing and creating custom sounds with the Magicstomp II just got easier. Yamaha has upgraded the original Magicstomp by adding a headphone jack and the ability to edit programs on the unit itself--without the need for a computer.

"The Yamaha Magicstomp series provides all the effects you could ever want in one convenient, easy-to-use format," says Bryan Savage, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. "It's like having 99 effects boxes in one, plus the new Magicstomp II has deep editing on the unit itself. No other stomp box on the market will let you go that deep into each effect parameter and adjust it. For instance, you can go into the 'delay,' choose between ten presets, and adjust the decay, rate, etc. to get exactly what you want. "Should you choose to use a computer," adds Savage, "the Magicstomp II will connect to a Mac or PC via USB. Log on to www.magicstomp.com to share or upload custom programs, or access a constantly evolving database of artist and end-user patches, free of charge."

The user-friendly interface contains an easy-to-read LCD display, master volume control, three sturdy foot switches (up/down and on/off) and three multi-function parameter knobs. Preset sounds can be edited and then stored in any of the 99 user locations, while any three patches can be assigned to the foot switches for instant recall. The editor will allocate up to three parameter functions to the control knobs for real-time "on the fly" adjustments.
