January 19, 2005

The Zildjian Company announced the release of three new instruments for introduction to its Z Custom Series: the 19-inch Custom Thrash Ride, the 14-inch Custom Splash and the 20-inch Custom Projection Crash. Like all Z Custom cymbals, these new models are loud, raw and aggressive.

The Z Custom Thrash Ride provides the hard-hitting drummer the ammunition to get the continuous, powerful crash sound by shoulder riding on the Thrash Ride. At 19 inches and a Medium Heavy weight, this cymbal is perfect for switching between shoulder riding and crash patterns to fill out the most intense of musical settings. Featuring maximum spread and wash, the new Custom thrash Ride employs a hybrid of A Custom and Z Custom hammering in a new pattern that radiates straight out from the bell.

Featuring a unique profile and the largest bell of any Zildjian Crash cymbal, the 20-inch Z Custom Projection Crash now holds the distinction of being the loudest cymbal that the company has created. Its Medium Heavy weight and Brilliant finish help to provide a cymbal sound capable of cutting through even the loudest of music.

Creating the 14-inch Z Custom Splash continues the trend of Zildjian responding to drummer needs for larger and louder cymbals. Available in a Thin weight the new Splash features a louder, lower-pitched voice with longer decay.

All new Z Custom models are available to ship March, 1 2005.

MSRPs:

  • Z Custom Thrash Ride - $320
  • Z Custom Splash - $208
  • Z Custom Projection Crash - $339
