Crate Audio used the 2005 Winter NAMM show to introduce the SoundScape Series of signal processors. The series is comprised of 3 graphic Equalizers, 1 Stereo/Mono Crossover, and a Stereo Compressor Limiter. The CQ131 is a mono 31 band, 1 rack space equalizer set to standard ISO frequencies. Each slider is illuminated for a visual representation of your EQ curve, even in low-light situations. The CQ131 features constant "Q" multiple-feedback filters for high resolution and minimal interaction between bands. A +6/+12 dB range switch allows for greater accuracy and precision control. Crate Audio also offers the CQ215 (Dual 15 band, 1RU) and CQ231 (Dual 31 Band, 2 RU). The CX23 is a stereo 2-way, mono 3-way crossover with dual 24dB/Octave Linkwitz-Riley filters with low "Q" design for minimal ringing. 40Hz Subsonic Filter and a 15kHz high filter allow for precision control. The CPL2 is a stereo compressor/limiter/expander/gate with balanced inputs and outputs, an AutoComp function for automatic control of attack and release times, and a "Breadth" expander control that adds high frequencies back in as the compression ratio expands. All of the SoundScape series of signal processing feature an internal power supply and fuse protection. SoundScape Features:
The CQ131, CQ215, and CX23 list for $149; the CPL2 for $169; and the CQ231 for $229. All are scheduled for February delivery. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.crateaudio.com/.
