Dave Smith unveiled his Poly Evolver keyboard at the Winter NAMM show. Based on the same synth engine as the tabletop monophonic Evolver and the Poly Evolver rack-mount synthesizer, the new keyboard features a knob-per-function interface housed in a metal enclosure with exotic hardwood end panels.

Each of its four discrete stereo voices has two Curtis analog oscillators as well as two digital oscillators that use the wavetables from the Sequential Prophet VS. The synth also utilizes Curtis 2/4 pole analog lowpass filters, real analog VCAs and a host of other features including a powerful 4 x 16 analog-style event sequencer. Multiple units can be easily chained together to add as much polyphony as desired.

The Poly Evolver keyboard will have an MSRP of $2,699, and is expected to ship in April 2005.
