On the heels of BM 5A, Dynaudio Acoustic introduces the BM 9S. This new subwoofer complements the recently introduced BM 5A nearfield monitor, and with its integrated bass management it provides true flexibility with the entire BM Series line of products. With 200 watts of power, a frequency response of 29-387 Hz, and a 10" woofer in a compact cabinet, the BM 9S is ideal for any stereo or multichannel setup where space is at a premium. The BM 9S is expected to ship in March with a list price of $1245 MSRP. The new subwoofer includes multiple I/Os and a user-adjustable cross-over for easy set-up and control. Its built-in high-pass filtering enables the BM 9S to filter out the power-consuming lower frequencies below 60 or 80 Hz from the satellites, leaving all the satellite power to enhance performance and precision. BM 9S also has a dedicated LFE Input for systems with external bass management and an LFE Output to allow more subwoofers to be daisy chained. It is equipped with an energy-saving Auto On/Off function that automatically shuts off power after a period of time with no input signal. The BM 9S has been designed according to the strict BM Series specifications. For significant control and greater performance, the subwoofer is a closed cabinet type. Any pressure inside the cabinet adds further precision to the woofer. By combining the new subwoofer with the existing BM 5A nearfield monitors, Dynaudio Acoustics offers an affordable high-end stereo or 5.1 monitor system.
