Gibson Montana Intros Traveling Songwriter Guitar

January 27, 2005

Gibson Guitar's Acoustic division has created a new travel acoustic guitar. The Gibson Traveling Songwriter delivers everything a working, performing songwriter needs in a guitar by combining a travel-friendly design with acoustic sound.

The Gibson Acoustic Traveling Songwriter features a unique body style that is thin but hollow. The Sitka spruce top is designed with dome construction and the same scalloped bracing pattern as Gibsons from the 1930s, for true acoustic tone. The body shape, from Gibson's historic square-shoulder family, along with the famous Moustache bridge, give the Traveling Songwriter an unmistakably Gibson look.

The Traveling Songwriter's rear soundhole provides the player with enhanced acoustic volume in quiet settings such as a home or office. For stage use, the pickup and onboard 4-band EQ and volume controls provide the songwriter with live performance capability.

The Gibson Traveling Songwriter comes with a custom travel case with a built-in guitar tuner. The thin body and slightly shortened headstock allow it to fit easily into spaces that won't accommodate a full-depth guitar in a hardshell case. MSRP for the model is $3,386.
