The Zildjian Company announced the introduction of two new models to its K Custom Series: thirteen-inch Custom Special Dry HiHats and a twenty-inch Custom Session Ride. K Custom Special Dry HiHats are now available in thirteen-inch size. Featuring a medium thin top paired with a medium bottom, these cymbals take advantage of special hammering and lathing techniques to produce a dry, crisp sound with pinpoint precision, minimal wash and a cutting chick sound. The new thirteen-inch diameter offers a faster, higher pitched alternative to the original fourteen-inch model. A 21" ride and several Crashes are also available in the Special Dry range. The K Custom Session Ride is based on intensive research and development with legendary artist Steve Gadd to replicate his favorite cracked Zildjian cymbal. Originally offered in eighteen-inch size, the new twenty-inch model adds additional size and sustain as well as a lower pitch to the Session Ride range. Both Custom Session Rides produce a clean, articulate stick sound, controllable wash with complex, dark overtones, a bright, cutting bell and dry, short crashes. Also offered within the Custom Session range are fourteen-inch HiHats and sixteen and eighteen-inch crashes, replicating Gadd's favorite Zildjian cymbal sounds. The Medium Thin Session Ride is unlathed and offered in Brilliant Finish. Both K Custom models are available to ship March 1, 2005. MSRP:
