Clavia Presents The Revolutionary Patch Mutator Update
January 20, 2006
The world's most flexible synthesizer has gotten even better - and easier
to use. A new OS revision 1.4 for the Nord Modular G2 brings a
revolutionary Patch Mutator, greatly simplifying the exploration of the
infinite sonic possibilities of the G2 line of synthesizers.
You simply use your ears to breed sounds in an interactive process,
similar to the selective breeding of plants, but infinitely faster. A
family of sounds can be generated from any existing sound, and different
sounds can even crossbreed to produce exciting new variations. The process
can be repeated in any number of generations, gradually approaching the
sound you are looking for, or as a way of exploring novel sound worlds.
The Patch Mutator also includes such tools as patch randomization and
interpolation between existing sounds.
The Nord Modular G2 is already the machine of choice for synth power
users. Now, beginners too can easily explore its infinite possibilities.
Sound design will never be the same.
The Patch Mutator has been developed in collaboration with Swedish
composer and researcher Palle Dahlstedt, as a result of several years of
research in computer-aided creativity at Chalmers University of
Technology, Sweden.
