With a quickly increasing number of drum corps and marching bands using Evans drumheads, the company's product line is expanding to offer more options. The latest heads to join the Evans marching line are the MX Frost Tenor drumheads and the MX2 White Bass drumheads.

MX Frost Tenor heads are made with the same robust locking hoop that has made Evans' MX White heads virtually indestructible. They provide a more resonant tone that will project better in outdoor venues and their translucent coating gives them a warm sound, as well as a striking, unique visual appeal. "The MX Frost Tenors were thoroughly tested by The Bluecoats during the last three weeks of the DCI season," notes Evans Brand Manager Michael Robinson. "They told us that they considered the MX Frost the best tenor sound on the field. That's a pretty phenomenal first endorsement of the heads!"

Another Evans head you'll see on the marching field soon is the MX2 White Bass drumhead. The MX2 White is a two-ply version of the incredibly popular MX1 White Bass head with its unique, internal adjustable damping system; the system consists of eight felt arcs that can be configured in a variety of combinations for an expanse of sound combinations. Foam, glue, and patches for bass sound adjustment are a thing of the past. "With two plies of 7.5 mil film, the MX2 White head is extremely durable," Robinson explains. "It offers an emphasized attack and focused sustain that's especially valuable for indoor marching."

The Evans MX Frost Tenor head is now available and is offered in sizes from 6" to 16". It retails for between $23.00 and $34.00. The MX2 White Bass Head is now available and is offered in sizes 16" to 32". It retails for between $71.00 and $131.00.
