Due to continual consumer feedback and an overwhelming demand, Fender is proud to announce the introduction of two new versions of its Victor Bailey Signature Model Bass guitar--the long-awaited fretless and 5-string models! These beautiful and fully modern instruments will be available in 2006, and they can be seen for the first time at Fender's booth at the winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California.

The body of these guitars feature select Koa or rosewood tops over mahogany, with a mahogany neck and pao ferro fingerboard. The scale length is 34", with 9.5" Radius and 22 medium jumbo frets. Hardware includes gold plated Fender®/Schaller® Deluxe Lite-Bass tuning machines, a deluxe gold plated steel bridge (Strings-Thru-Body or Top Load), and gold plated brass saddles.

The pickups and electronics include: 2 Samarium Cobalt Noiseless™ Jazz Bass® Pickups; Master Volume, Pan Pot, 3-Band Active EQ; Treble Boost/Cut with +/- 10 db @ 8kHz, a shift in the cut frequency, and about a 2dB slope per octave; Mid Boost/Cut with +10dB, -15dB @ 500Hz, and a wide band slope; and Bass Boost/Cut: +/- 12 db @ 40 Hz, with a 4dB slope per octave.

Each model also features a Victor Bailey graphic on the headstock, five countersunk neck bolts, carved asymmetrical neck heel for comfortable upper register access, and Posiflex™ graphite neck support rods. US MSRP for the fretless model is $1,999.99, and $2,099.99 for the 5-string model.
