Mapex is introducing two new finishes to its wildly popular M Birch Series. The two new colors, Black Forest Cherry and Black Forest Green are striking fade-to-black transparent lacquer finishes. Each color is applied by hand in eight individual coats and buffed to a rich, high-gloss luster.
"Mapex is well known for its high-quality, stunning burst finishes," said Joe Vasko, Vice President and General Manager of Mapex USA. "The exterior maple veneer surrounding the all-birch shell is a marvelous canvas for these beautiful new color schemes."
Introduced in 2005, the M Birch has met with tremendous success, thanks largely to its good looks, sonic quality and tremendous consumer value. In addition to offering two new finishes to the existing five transparent lacquer colors, Mapex has decided to extend the popular "6 for 5" promotion throughout 2006. The company has also added a "7 for 6" promotion which means that every consumer buying an M Birch Kit in 2006 receives a free add-on tom, plus mounting hardware.
All M Birch drum sets include double braced 500-Series Mapex Hardware and are available in five configurations. The MSRP for five piece kits (plus the free tom) in the new Black Forest Finishes start at $1,299.00. Burst finished, six-piece "Studio" kits, which come with a free 8-inch tom, making a seven-piece kit, are priced at $1,699.00. Matching components are also available.
