New in 2.9: now Universal Binary. Runs at native speed on all Macs without using Rosetta
New in 2.9: Intel *and* Power PC vector optimizations for faster processing
Free update for existing users (an industry first: no paid update since first release in October 2003)
Same old price for new customers, 80.00Eur/105.00USD
Available February, 10th
AutoSampler 1.5
Resamples any MIDI and Virtual Instruments source
Converts those sounds in multisampled, multivelocity, ready to play, Exs24 instruments
Useful for conversions from unsupported synths/platforms too
One-click operations, no editing required
Can sample whole banks
Designed to work completely unattended
New in 1.5: now Universal Binary. Runs at native speed on all Macs without using Rosetta
New in 1.5: Intel *and* Power PC vector optimizations for faster processing
Free update for existing users
Same old price for new customers 100.00Eur/130.00USD
Available February, 10th
Changes to the current lineup:
As of today the ExsManager OSX Standard Edition is no longer available for purchase. The Standard Edition will still be supported with a free Universal Binary 2.9 release in February, incorporating all the latest fixes and improvements and available only to existing users. Existing users can upgrade to ExsManager 2.9 (Pro) for the same old price of 55 Euro/70 USD
New products
Keymap
Advanced Sampled Instruments Editor
The most advanced and innovative editor, already Universal Binary
Tessellation engine
Layer based editing (non overlapping zones in each layer), with volume, pan and parametric controls over crossfades
Unlimited number of layers
Tessellation engine provides a novel way to edit your zones, by automatically splitting/creating/deleting zones based on various modes
Dynamics remap envelope for each layer
Remap functions:
Remap velocity
Remap to range
Remap to white/black/all keys and more
Simplify mapping (creates simpler instruments from complex ones)
Expand mapping
Full note *and* velocity crossfading capabilities
Autocreate crossfades for note and/or velocities
Modify crossfades in a quick parametric way for each layer
Crossfades visualized through use of overlayed transparency maps
Zone/Layer and Group editors constantly updated
Easy to change several parameters at once over a selection
Surround support
All sample functions supports multichannel wav and aiff sample files (up to 16 channels)
Integral surround map editor for visualizing and remapping outputs
Channels for each independent sample file can be remapped to independent busses
Double indirection system allows easy and simple remapping of outs to Exs24 outs
Sample editor
The fastest sample overview creation available: most of the times it's so fast that it's not even saved back to disk.
Precise, responsive zoom system allows visualization from/to any sample location.
Realtime adjustable fade in/fade out envelopes
Additional microfade envelopes specially shaped to eliminate clicks
Streaming engine based
Setup editor
Allows easy creation of layered and splitted instruments in "setups", which can be later saved as individual merged Exs24 instruments
Unlimited number of instruments
Transpose and velocity shift, note and velocity limits
Advanced Autolooping
The most advanced autolooping algorithm available coupled with the simplest interface.
Works with harmonic sounds, and also with full polyphonic or rhythmic segments.
Very intuitive "select and find best loop" control
Requires no additional user parameters
Loop Rephase function allows setting any point in a loop as starting point
Advanced Automapping
Pitch and power detection allows creation of automapped sounds from an appropriate recording, with a single click
The file is splitted in regions, and then each region is trimmed, pitch detected, looped, and mapped over the keyboard with full note and velocity crossfading
Support for automapping of percussive instruments.
Support for automapping of percussive instruments with variations for each sound/velocity.
Realtime Harmonic Resynthesis
Independent and continuous manipulation of the four main sound parameters: pitch, amp, formant and time, for each sample containing monophonic harmonic content
Everything is modifiable and playable in realtime, either from the editor, or from the keyboard
Each parameter has an independent envelope curve that is first created from sample analysis, and can then be manipulated in any way
Graphical tools allows editing of the envelopes in novel ways (draw, reset, expand, reduce, etc)
Pitch envelope can be manipulated in order to easily correct sample tuning, or to copy/paste vibrato shapes among samples
Time envelope allows loop length equalization (i.e. setting all loops to the same length), overall sample length changes, and other changes of the time characteristics of the sample
Formant envelope allows for very interesting sound design, like changing the overall character of an instrument
Amp envelope allows direct manipulation of the sample amplitude, so that you can draw the overall shape, and provides a simple way to eliminate the decay from decaying samples
Fine tuned randomize functions allows creation of "slightly different" sounds from a single set of samples for added realism
Loop remix
A system for the creation of new rhythmic loops from old ones.
Takes a rhythmic loop, splits it in pieces, and remixes them in realtime in a simple and intuitive way using just a few keyboard buttons.
No clicks: a complex yet simple to use continuous-crossfade system smooths the loop segments with several shapes and amounts
When you like the results, a single key stores that loop away for later use in the instruments, or as a new sample.
When used with automapping, the same single key action can also automap each new loop over keys
Magic pads
Simple innovation that makes the life in studio so much easier.
Designed to avoids repetitive editing tasks in several real-world situations
A bar containing some drag and drop pads let you create new instruments from scratch, just by dropping sample/instrument files
Each pad has a set of actions performed over the dropped filess: as example, "split, trim and automap".
For Exs24
You already have a very high performance sample playback engine in Logic.
Performance obtained by splitting the editing and playback capabilities: each app does its best.
One of the oldest and most supported formats around.
Not a Logic user? Exs24 is imported by all major sample players.
All apart, Clemens is a genius.
