Kustom Debuts The Groove Bass 1300HD and 600HD Amp Heads

Kustom rocked the bass guitar community in 2004 with the introduction of the Groove Bass™ 1200HD, the 1200-watt, no-nonsense bass head that has since been used on concert stages around the world by artists as diverse as heavy metal group Trivium, country rockers Van Zant and 1960s music icon Brian Wilson and his band. Now, Kustom refines and expands the concept with the introduction of two new amp heads, the Groove Bass 1300HD and 600HD. Two new bass speaker cabinets, the G410 and G215, complete the line-up.
Both new Groove Bass rack-mount heads feature a black anodized aluminum control panel with chrome handles, trim and knobs. It's a neat visual twist that instantly differentiates the new bass heads from the original model. The Groove Bass 1300HD retains the 1,200-watt power rating but with a new EQ section that is more responsive and effective than the original Groove Bass. EQ parameters, potentiometers, tapers and EQ Shift control functions have all been fine-tuned with results that will impress even the most die-hard Groove Bass fanatic.
Other popular Groove features such as the 9-Band Active EQ, Effects Loop, Neutrik® Speak-On output connectors, Pre- or Post-EQ XLR Line Out, Tuner Out and Solo Boost functions remain untouched. The footswitchable Mute function, which allows players to silence their amplifier rig while tuning up, now activates a blinking LED to make the Mute mode more noticeable on dark concert stages.
The new Groove Bass 600HD captures the essence of the classic Groove Bass sound and presents it at a price point that most any bass player can afford. Rated at 600 RMS watts, the Groove 600HD packs a mighty punch and provides all of the other Groove Bass 1300HD features with the exception of the EQ Shift switches.
To accompany the new Groove heads are two new bass speaker cabinets: the Kustom G410 and G215. The new models feature a single-wall cabinet design made of plywood, which produces punchy low-end tones with lighter overall weight. The G410 is built with four 10-inch Eminence® speakers, an Eminence compression horn for high frequencies and a Variable Horn Attenuator located on the back of the cabinet. The G215 provides the same configuration but with two 15-inch Eminence® speakers. Both cabinets are covered in a tough new vinyl and use pop-in style castors for mobility.
