Kustom Introduces The Ardent Line of PA Speaker & Monitors

January 21, 2007

Kustom® Professional Audio proudly introduces the Ardent™ line of P.A. products which includes speakers, monitors and a subwoofer.

Ardent P.A. speakers are easily recognizable due to their trapezoidal cabinet shape. By not having parallel cabinet sides, the trapezoid design effectively reduces internal standing waves and other nonmusical resonances. Two Ardent speaker models are available: the AD12 which features a single 12-inch Kustom® Heavy Duty P.A. speaker and the AD15, loaded with a 15-inch Kustom speaker. Each cabinet provides a Compression Driver that delivers clear, extended high frequencies. A Kustom Precision-Tuned Crossover™ system (PTC) separately assigns power to the speaker and horn while the Safety Surge circuit protects the compression driver. The AD12 and AD15 are both rated at 150 watts RMS / 300 watts Peak Power Handling capability.

Kustom AD12 and AD15 speakers are covered in a tough, impact-resistant, industrial-grade carpet and provide two _-inch and one Neutrik® Speak-On connectors. The speakers are protected by a perforated steel grill and include a special acoustical material behind the grill that gives Ardent speakers the visual flair of expensive touring grade P.A. systems.

Kustom also introduces two Ardent stage monitors, the AD12M and the AD15M. Both use the same quality speaker and compression driver components, along with the Precision-Tuned Crossover system and Safety Surge protection circuit. Branded with the Kustom Professional Audio logo, Ardent monitors have two special features that are exclusive to Kustom products. The first is a Volume Attenuator control that lets performers easily adjust the overall level of their personal monitor while on stage. This is accomplished with an internal Multi-Tap Transformer.

The second is an Impedance Switch that when activated, lets performers use additional stage monitors without the need for another monitor amplifier! Ardent monitors utilize the same high-impact carpet covering, perforated grill and special acoustical material as the trapezoidal Ardent speaker cabinets. Power handling is 150 watts RMS / 300 watts Peak for the AD12M and AD15M models.

Also new is the Ardent AD118 Subwoofer which pumps out extended low-end frequencies with power and authority. Housed in an 18 mm-thick, carpet-covered cabinet, the AD118 features an 18-inch Eminence® speaker, a 120-Hertz crossover and a plywood baffle for improved resonance. Power rating is 400 watts RMS / 800 watts Peak. Details include a metal speaker grill with cloth on the inside, heavy-duty corner protectors, large diameter feet, a metal speaker stand-mount on top and an included satellite speaker mounting pole.
