Mapex Announces New Configurations and Finish For M Birch Series Drums

Mapex has announced the introduction of two new configurations and one new finish to its popular M Birch drum set series.
The new color, Black Forrest Sapphire is a beautiful transparent sapphire blue that fades to black at the ends of the drum. Mapex introduced two "Black Forrest" burst finishes in 2006 and both met with tremendous success.
There are also two new configurations in the M Birch Series for 2007. Both configurations are eligible for Mapex's free add-on tom offer that was recently extended throughout 2007 in a recent announcement.
The Crossover 22 is a one-up, two-down set-up built for the heavy hitter. The set features a 22x18-inch bass drum, a free 10x8 suspended tom tom, a 12x9 suspended tom tom, a 14x14 floor tom and 16x16 floor tom and a matching 14x5.5 matching snare. The kit also includes an eight-piece set of Mapex 500A Series hardware. MSRP for the Crossover 22 (MB5285A) is $1286.99 for non-burst finishes and $1464.99 for burst finishes.
With the addition of a 24x18-inch bass drum to the M Birch lineup has created the opportunity for Mapex to offer the Rock 24 configuration in 2007. In addition to the 24-inch bass drum, the Rock 24 includes a free 10x8 suspended tom tom, a 12x9 suspended tom tom, a 16x16 floor tom and a 14x6.5 matching snare drum. The Rock 24 (MB4466A) also includes an eight-piece set of Mapex 500A Series Hardware and carries a list price of $1299.99 for non-burst finishes and $1459.99 for burst finishes.
Consumers that purchase any M Birch drum set receive a free eight or ten-inch tom tom plus mounting hardware. The promotion will continue to be supported with national print advertising, in-store POP and on the Mapex website, usa.mapexdrums.com.
The M-Birch Series features 6-ply, 7.2mm shells with an exterior maple veneer to accent the series' hand-applied, high-gloss transparent lacquer finishes. The drums are also equipped with the exclusive Mapex I.T.S. Isolated Tom Mount System, designed to extend the shell's resonance. M Birch drum sets come with an instructional DVD hosted by Mapex International Clinician, Dom Famularo.
