Mapex USA announced that it has added two new lacquer finishes and two new exclusive Delmar® coverings to its Pro M series of drum sets.
Two new fade finishes, Boston Pewter and Red Wood Fade are hand-applied, eight-coat high gloss lacquer finishes. Liquid Blue Pearl and Ruby Red Pearl have been added to the two existing Delmar wrapped finishes used in the Pro M Series.
In addition, all snare drums included with 2007 Pro M drum sets are now equipped with 20 split lugs for more precise tuning and more attractive styling.
Mapex's "Buy the Kit, Get the Cat" consumer promotion for the series has been extended throughout 2007, rewarding purchasers of Pro M drum sets with a free 13x6 Black Panther Premium Maple and Cherry snare drum.
The Mapex Pro M is available in eleven different configurations including the new seven-piece Plus Bass Fusion Pop 22 set-up and the new five-piece, one-up, two-down Crossover 22 configuration. Pro M drum sets are available in eleven high-gloss, hand-applied lacquer finishes and four exclusive Delmar® coverings.
Manufacturer's suggested retail prices on Pro M Kits range from $1529.99 to $2749.99.
Mapex also announced that it is expanding its Pro M Series to include two exciting new pre-packaged configurations — the seven-piece Plus Bass Fusion Pop 22 and the five-piece Crossover 22.
The Plus Bass Fusion Pop 22 (PM7287U) was configured with R&B players in mind and features an extra deep 22x20-inch bass drum, 8x7, 10x8, 12x9 suspended tom toms, 14x12 and 16x14 floor toms and a matching 14x5.5 snare drum. The set-up includes stands for the suspended toms, leaving the bass drum clear of holes drilled for a tom mount.
The set includes two Mapex B550A Boom Stands, B960A Combo Tom/Cymbal Stand, a B550A Tom Stand, an S550A Snare Stand, an H750A Hi-Hat Stand and a P950A Bass Drum Pedal. MSRP for the Pro M Plus Bass Fusion POP 22 is $ 2749.99.
Rockers and big band players will gravitate to the new one-up, two-down Crossover 22 (PM5286U) configuration. The set is built around a 22x18 bass drum, 12x9 suspended tom, 14x14 and 16x16 floor toms and a matching 14x5.5 snare. The Crossover 22 also includes a six-piece hardware pack of Mapex 550A and 750A Series Hardware. List Price for the Crossover 22 kit is $2432.99.
The Pro M Series features all-maple shells and the Mapex Isolated Tom Mount System that ensures maximum shell resonance. Pro M drum sets are available in eleven high-gloss, hand-applied lacquer finishes and four exclusive Delmar® coverings.
In an effort to satisfy the market's growing demand for larger and larger drum sets, Mapex has announced the release of its new Plus Bass 22 Add-on Pack for the company's Pro M Series.
This add-on pack capitalizes on the success that Mapex enjoyed in 2006 with the release of its cannon-like 22x20-inch bass drum that propelled sales of its Classic and Classic Plus configurations. The Plus Bass 22 Add-on Pack (PMPK208U) includes a 22x20 bass drum, 10x8 suspended tom tom, 18x16 floor tom, a P750A Bass Drum Pedal, a TS960 Combination Tom/Cymbal Stand and an AC906 Multi-Clamp which allows the player to clamp a hi-hat stand to a kick drum to economize pedal space.
The Plus Bass 22 Add-on pack carries an MSRP of $1639.99.
In 2007, purchasers of 2007 model Pro M drum set are rewarded with a free Black Panther 13x6 Maple and Cherry Snare Drum, which carries a retail value of $529.99. The offer is only available on complete drum sets and is not available with the Plus Bass 22 Add-on pack.
