Takamine's new EF340SBG and EF360SBG dreadnoughts were designed and built under the guidance of some of the flat-picking worlds hottest talents. Paying homage to Bluegrass tradition, these new models were voiced for vintage dreadnought power and feature state of the art pickup systems to complement today's performing environment.
Both models are hand built from solid, luthier selected tone woods. The EF340SBG is a mahogany dreadnought and the EF360SBG features solid rosewood back and sides with herring bone binding and rosette. The EF340SBG and EF360SBG employ the Takamine TLD line driver preamp system mounted stealthily inside the guitar. Also available are the TF340SBG and TF360SBG, which are powered by the state of the art CTP-1 Cool Tube Preamp.
Prototypes were immediately put to the test with IBMA "Entertainer of the Year" award winners The Grasscals, who played their set at the IBMA award show with these new models. Flat picker extraordinaire Brad Davis took his prototype straight to the studio to record a Tim McGraw Bluegrass tribute CD.
