VOX announces the newest member of the Valvetronix™ family, the ToneLab™ LE. This new amp and effect floor processor delivers VOX's acclaimed modeling technology plus professional effects, master EQ and a four-mode line output in a streamlined, cost-effective package. It offers a rugged and compact design for use on stage, as well as enhanced direct recording features designed for studio and desktop recording applications.

The ToneLab LE includes much of the core functionality of its predecessor (ToneLab SE), plus some updates based on user requests, including a four-mode line out voiced for applications ranging from direct recording to live performance through a PA system. The "Line 2" amp/line setting features an all-new three-band Master EQ modeled after an acclaimed live mixer. The addition of a S/PDIF optical digital output provides greater flexibility for recording applications while new effects have been added for increased tone-shaping potential. A "metal distortion" satisfies the need for extreme gain, while a slap delay and two-tap delay with tap tempo add to the ambient possibilities. A new multi-tap chorus offers independent chorus taps for the left, center and right outputs, for greater depth and spaciousness.

Sixteen amp sounds — starting with VOX's own AC30 — range from vintage to modern; from clean to extreme. Cabinet modeling reproduces the acoustical characteristics of 10 different cabinet and speaker types. Settings can be saved into 120 program locations. In addition, 40 presets contain classic settings for each amp model.

A complete selection of modulation, delay and reverb effect types are provided, with 11 types per category. Effects range from stomp box to studio effects and include a rare analog chorus, rotary speaker and vintage delay/echo. There are also 16 pedal effects including wah, fuzz, overdrive, distortion and acoustic simulator. Easy knob-based editing gives fast access to all effects. An expression pedal can control wah, volume, delay time or many other parameters, and the Quick Assign feature makes it easy to assign a parameter at a single touch.

Footswitchable send/return jacks allow the connection of a favorite pedal. An Amp/Line selector can be used to connect to amps, mixers, or for direct recording. Also included is a headphone out, MIDI in/out, and built-in auto-chromatic tuner with mute for silent tuning.

Free dedicated editor software (download at www.voxamps.co.uk) enables the user to edit all parameters on a computer, as well as manage and share an unlimited number of programs.

The VOX ToneLab™ LE is available February 2007 at a U.S. MSRP of $700.

About VOX Valve Reactor™ Technology
The ToneLab LE features VOX's patented Valve Reactor™ circuitry — a proprietary design using a 12AX7 dual triode vacuum tube, a virtual output transformer and a dummy speaker circuit that simulates the reactive load of a real speaker. The Valve Reactor reconfigures itself so its characteristics match the amps it's modeling; all the nuances of the original amp — sound, feel, and presence — are accurately reproduced.

VOX Amplification is exhibiting at Booth #6440 during the 2007 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.
