James Trussart Custom Guitars Debuts The Steelcaster Deluxe

James Trussart Custom Guitars is pleased to introduce its newest creation—the Steelcaster Deluxe.

The Steelcaster Deluxe (F-hole) is designed to have the look and feel of a vintage instrument with the added appeal of a metal construction. It delivers a uniquely annunciated sound that, combined with the resonant qualities of the hollow steel body, can range from sweet, crystal clear tones to aggressive full crunch. The Steelcaster is offered with a number of different component choices—including pickup combinations and wiring, neck options, new finishes and engraving.

Trussart models have found their way into the hands of guitar luminaries such as Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Jon Brion, Robert Cray, Sheryl Crow, Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam), Billy Gibbons, PJ Harvey, Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave), Joe Perry, Marc Ribot, Rich Robinson (Black Crowes), and Lucinda Williams, to name a few.

"I've always liked the look and feel of old guitars, believing them to have a life beyond that of their creator," says Trussart, "to somehow emulate that effect of age and history on my own guitars. With the new Steelcaster, I wanted to make a guitar that was rooted in the traditional guitar realm, but that appeared to have sprouted from the earth, partially decomposed and well-worn—with a sound and a personality all its own."
