AKG Announces Revamped Headphone Line

At Winter NAMM 2008, AKG today revealed its new and improved line of headphones offering an even higher level of performance design to users in all categories, from home stereo listeners to recording engineers. The improved line of AKG headphones launching at Winter NAMM includes K 141 MK II, K 240 MK II, K 171 MK II, K 271 MK II, K 77 and K 99 models.

"AKG is dedicated to maintaining the highest level of performance throughout our product line," explained Sonja Malzer, Product Manager, AKG Acoustics. "The update and redesign of our Studio-Line headphones reflects this goal to provide the professional audio market with the best value and performance available."

K 141 MK II dynamic, on-ear, semi-open headphones include a self-adjusting headband, comfortable leatherette and velvet earpads, and feature an additional five meters of coiled cable. Available in a stage blue color, the K 141 MK II offers a frequency range of 18 Hz to 24 kHz, maximum input power of 200 mW and a rated impedance of 55 ohms. Designed for semi-professional and professional use, the K 141 MK II headphones are ideal for studio monitoring, project studios and home recording applications.

K 240 MK II dynamic, around-ear, semi-open headphones also include a self-adjusting headphone, comfortable leatherette, velvet earpads and the additional five meters of coiled cable. The stage blue K 240 MK II has a frequency range of 15 Hz to 25 k Hz, maximum input power of 200 mW and a rated impedance of 55 ohms. Designed for studio monitoring, project and home studios, the K 240 MK II headphones can also be deployed for single-ear use.

K 171 MK II dynamic, on-ear, closed-back headphones are designed for on stage monitoring and DJ mixing. The stage blue K 171 MK II is equipped with AKG's leatherette and velvet earpads, as well as the extended five meters of coiled cable. Offering a frequency range of 18 Hz to 26 k Hz, a maximum input power of 200 mW and a rated impedance of 55 ohms, the K 171 MK II's high efficiency and wide dynamic range make it ideally suited for mobile use.

K 271 MK II dynamic, around-ear, closed-back headphones are designed for playback recording, on stage and live monitoring applications. Offering a frequency range of 16 Hz to 28 kHz, maximum input power of 200 mW, rated impedance of 55 ohms, and a stage blue color, the K 271 MK II also comes equipped with an additional five meters coiled cable, comfortable leatherette and velvet earpads.

K 77 dynamic, around-ear, closed-back headphones offer an exceptional price/performance ratio for music enthusiasts in home stereo and home recording applications. The dark blue colored K 77 power performance stereo headphones feature comfortable leatherette earpads and offer a frequency range of 18 Hz to 20 kHz, maximum input power of 200 mW and rated impedance of 32 ohms.

K 99 dynamic, around-ear, semi-open headphones are dedicated for portable MP3, CD players and notebooks, offering an outstanding value to end-users. The K 99 natural sound stereo headphones are equipped with soft leatherette earpads and offer a frequency range of 18 Hz to 22 kHz, maximum input power of 200 mW and rated impedance of 32 ohms.

Additionally, now available as a separately shipping item, the AKG IP 2 in-ear headphones offer total ambient isolation to block out stage noise. The grey colored, dynamic, in-ear, closed-back headphones have a frequency range of 12Hz to 23.5 kHz, maximum input power of 20 mW and rated impedance of 16 ohms.
